Emacs is my text editor of choice. I spend part of my time working on my init.el file and just love to share some of the ideas I have manifested in emacs lisp. Emacs works on the two platforms I mostly have to deal with, brings org mode, a package manager and the great little „inventions“ like flx matching, ido and avy. There is reasonable auto completion for python and php and a calendar. It’s also possible to edit textfields in the famous firefox web browser using emacs using a Firefox add-on called It’s All Text!.
Over all it is a great ecosystem for innovative ideas in text editing.
